Atlantic City Restaurant Week began yesterday, Sunday, March 4. Since I hadn?t had a chance yet to check out Harry?s Oyster Bar and Seafood at Bally?s, a recent addition from the Dougherty family (Dock?s Oyster House, the Knife and Fork) which opened last June, that was my selection for lunch.

My pal Sally and I arrived for our 1pm reservation and were seated in the dining area facing the Dennis Courtyard so we could see the strollers on the Boardwalk. Harry?s is selling itself as a casual eatery with a sports bar ambience, with plenty of flat screen TVs in the bar area. On this afternoon, many of the TVs were featuring the Phillies pre-season game against the Yankees.

The Restaurant Week lunch menu is $15.12 ($33.12 for dinner) for a three-course meal, appetizer, entr?e and dessert. Harry?s had caught my eye since they were offering an oyster trio (either raw or fried) as an appetizer selection. That was my selection. My three fried oysters were tender and succulent and the house tarter sauce had a nice bite to it.

Sally started off with Harry?s house salad, and was happy with her choice. While beverages are extra, there were free refills for soft drinks. Our server Susie pointed out that was standard at Harry?s.

For her entree, Sally selected the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, which came with French fries, coleslaw and fried onion straws on top of the pork. Sally admitted the onion straws had been a major selling point for her choice which she said was very good.

After looking over other choices that included a chicken salad and fried oyster platter, Cajun flounder sandwich, a Black Angus burger and an Arugula salad with salmon, I selected the Cobb salad with grilled chicken. It had all the usual Cobb favorites ? bacon, sliced avocado, chopped egg and blue cheese crumbles ? on a bed of romaine with cherry tomatoes, cucumber and my selection of blue cheese dressing.? It was excellent and large enough for me to take home half for dinner later.
