Mila Kunis Teases New Short Film With James Franco

'I will not talk about it until it is shown, because it might beat 'The Hills,' ' she tells MTV News of previous Funny or Die collaboration.

Despite the fact that the stars of Sam Raimi's buzz-worthy upcoming movie "Oz: The Great and Powerful" aren't allowed to offer up any specifics about their involvement in the film, we've managed to glean a few positive yet mysterious comments here and there.

Such was the case during a recent run-in with the lovely and talented Mila Kunis at CinemaCon, where we learned a little more about her character's motivations, as well as some teasers about a short-film project Kunis made with her co-star James Franco that she promised will be better than their Funny or Die parody of "The Hills."

"Sam Raimi [directed the movie]. What else do you need?" Kunis said when asked what else fans should know about the return to Oz. "[Also] James Franco, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz," she added. "That's all you need."

And what about her character, Theodora? Is she good and then evil? A nice blend? Who is she?

"She's a good person who gets her heart broken," Kunis said. "What happens to young ladies when their heart gets broken?"

Josh Horowitz answered that they turn into horrible evil witches. "You said it, not me," Kunis said with a smile.

We then brought up her re-teaming with Franco and asked whether they had any downtime during "Oz" to shoot another brilliant short film, à la their "Hills" parody.

"In the process, James and I had another collaboration that may or may not ever see the light of day. That was one of the many shorts that James shoots. That might go down in history as my favorite," Kunis revealed. "I will not talk about it until it is shown, because that it beat 'The Hills.' It's a whole other short that we shot. It was one of the more fun experiences one could ever have."

Although Kunis claimed she could not reveal any more details, we asked her to at least tell us what genre the short falls into and offered up horror as a possible category.

"Horror? Horror," Kunis answered. "It wasn't dirty," Kunis added. "In case you're going in that direction."

President Obama, Jimmy Fallon Slow Jam the News

President Barack Obama appeared on NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon early this morning, taking part in the show's running bit called "slow jamming the news."

If you haven't seen it, the segment's name speaks for itself.

In front of a live college audience at the University of North Carolina, Obama talked about student loans while Fallon's house band the Roots jammed on a slow, sensual R&B beat, making the topic seem sexier than you ever thought possible:

With the rhythmic tunes accompanying him, Obama said, "What we said is simple: Now is not the time to make school more expensive for our young people."

Fallon then added (in his best Barry White voice), "Awww, yeah. You should listen to the president. Or as I like to call him, the Preezy of the United Steezy."

"Things are heating up inside Congress' chambers behind those closed doors."

We don't even know what that means, but the "POTUS with the most-est" needs to bring the Roots with him and deliver campaign speeches this way more often.

Sony Xperia U gets torn to pieces, FCC destroys something beautiful

There's not much we don't already know about Sony's Xperia U (formerly the Kumquat), the entry-level Gingerbread handset for the company's revamped mobile offerings. Fortunately, those brave boys down in the FCC's underground bunker decided to dissect the handset and delve into its internals, where we can still see some of that Ericsson branding -- presumably it doesn't see any harm in using up some of its old parts if they're hidden from view. Old-timey livery issues aside, the appearance of the handset bodes that all is on schedule for arrival in the second quarter of the year.

Those short elbows that Jon Jones used on Rashad Evans, and the heel hook Efrain Escudero used on Mac Danzig did some damage. Evans tweeted a picture of his eye the day after the fight. Danzig, who managed to win his bout even though his ankle was swollen and ugly, showed how it was still bruised and swollen. He plans to get an MRI later this week to see what damage was caused at UFC 146. It's just another reminder that fighters' jobs are not like ours, unless your job involves laughing off injuries on a daily basis.

Anna Brand: 'Bethenny Ever After' Recap: A Birthday Massage Situation

Remember last week when Bethenny bowed her head to a heavenly marble figure outside a supply warehouse, embodied Satan when she realized she'll be relinquishing all of Julie's powers, and cried enough tears to fill her new giant closet? Wasn't it just FAB?! Well, if we're lucky (which according to the previews and the pre-aired clips the network so generously floods Twitter with), tonight won't be any different. The opposite of a happy duo are headed to Cabo Wabo for some much-needed tequila shots (and lovin'), I'm sure. That's right, a romantic vacation for the two of them orchestrated by the camera crew for our viewing pleasure. On we go ...

"Can't Get Enough of You" Bethenny

• Arriving at the One & Only Palmilla Resort with Brynn in her arms, who adorably greets the bellboys with a cheerful "Hola!" No, seriously.


• Settling into their mansion of a hotel room (far different from the roadside brothel that is my memory of Mexico) with wide smiles and vulnerably white cheeks.


• Muttering, "I know you love me, but you have to like me" in such a soft, feminine voice that I've forgotten her mouth is as dirty as a frat house's kitchen sink.


• Realizing she's being swindled by a Cabo beach vender when he tries to sell her a sarong for 60 bucks. "Are you out of your Mexican mind?" she so kindly asks the sir. "I love you like an hermano." Now, let's bargain.


• Highlighting the importance of picking up cute blond boys with obnoxiously sexy names like Houston on the beach to Brynn, her barely-walking baby. May have taken it a bit too far with the "power of the popsicle" comment -- that's not going to be funny very, very soon. But till then, I'm on board with playfully whoring out her kid.


• Analyzing with Ra-Ra the trust, money and anger issue she has with Hoppy -- in a calm levelheaded voice. Of course, the tears follow suit, but it's painfully difficult to openly sayi you're unhappy, so I'm granting her a freebie.


• Figuring out, naturally, that the only thing left to do is get "piss drunk" to snap into a better mood. Famous last words.


• Hilariously calling out Hoppy for asking her what her favorite salad is when he runs out of things to say during lunch. "Is this seriously what things have come down to," she says with a mouthful of food.


• Lying down for a 41st birthday couple's massage, and getting double-teamed by the massage therapist and Hoppy. Resembling a "Mexican orgy," there was talks of butt-cheeks, "chicken wing" style and motor-boating.


• Paddling into rough waters ... oh the irony.


• Celebrating her birthday with Brynn, a silver-platter-worthy chocolate chip cookie and her signature Mexico-appropriate hoop earrings.


• Walking down to the beach to the sound of what I can only relate to a Passover Shofar and posing for a mini photo shoot -- cue the intern.


• Flipping through a personalized photo album gifted by her employees and crying in a way that doesn't leave me peering away uncontrollably in embarrassment for the first time.

"Run for Your Life" Bethenny

• Pointing out after the sun drops on Day 1 that she and Hoppy have yet to fight once, leading to a tense moment of awkwardness -- annnnd it's time for a mid-scene "confessional."


• Almost cheers-ing with Hoppy to calm, peace and happiness together until she interrupts with a pause of hesitation topped off with a bulging eye roll.


• Casually letting Hoppy know that if they were to die, their baby would go to "Ra-Ra," B's employee. Funny, Hoppy outrageously thought his parents may be in the mix somewhere, but B points out very obviously and not-at-all-without-double-meaning that his parents might be too old, and therefore would be a threat to Brynn's "transition" period.


• Bringing up Julie's impeding departure once again -- a topic that has usually brought the couple closer together in many ways. Only this time, it quickly turns into middle school bickering essentially about who's more f--cked up than the other. And now it's time for another cocktail.


• Arguing with Hoppy over literally nothing and everything at the same time to the point where even sweet Ra-Ra doesn't know another way to say, "It's going to be OK."


• Disappearing into the rocks to go rehash the fight outside of our view, but luckily for us she's hooked up to a mic and we can hear her perfectly! "Damaged, wounded ... come have lunch," etc. etc.


• Scientifically explaining that her SkinnyGirl body physically cannot handle the nonsense anymore, igniting the vicious cycle and confused looks once again.


• Tearing up in a stark white robe over the thought of her mom having the same birthday as her and not being in contact at all. Watch the mascara, B ... it's dripping.

There you have it, folks: "Can't Get Enough of You" Bethenny came out on top in a landslide victory this week. Not only did B battle it out with her hermano from another mother on the beach -- which could have been enough right there -- but she not-at-all tastelessly pointed out Brynn's lollipop technique, discussed her feelings calmly without the supervision (and drugs) provided by Dr. A. and enjoyed a birthday celebration in a much more pleasing-to-watch way than last year's fiasco. All in all, Queen B seemed to be back to her normal, quick-witted self, with very little self-loathing attached. We'll still be in Cabo next week, so stay tuned for Part 2 of the Mexican fiesta.

Hama shelling undermines Syria truce

BEIRUT (Reuters) - The Syrian army killed more than 20 people in Hama on Monday, activists said, shattering a week of relative quiet in the central city visited a day earlier by U.N. monitors laying the ground for a wider mission to oversee a shaky 11-day ceasefire.

A small group of unarmed observers has been in Syria for a week, tracking the truce between forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and opponents inspired by 'Arab Spring' uprisings in North Africa and elsewhere in the Middle East.

The deal has curbed some of the violence, but the latest killings in Hama's Arbaeen district have laid bare the difficulty of bringing to a complete halt 13 months of fighting in which more than 9,000 people have died.

The U.N. Security Council has approved an expansion of the monitoring mission to 300 observers, although Assad's opponents say such numbers are far too small to keep a track on events in a nation of 23 million.

The U.N. political affairs chief said on Monday that the fighting in Syria was continuing despite announcements from the government that it will comply with the truce and has withdrawn troops and heavy weapons from population centers.

"The cessation of armed violence remains incomplete," Lynn Pascoe, U.N. undersecretary-general for political affairs, told the Security Council during a debate on the Middle East.

There was no immediate comment from Syrian authorities, who say they are committed to international mediator Kofi Annan's April 12 ceasefire agreement, but reserve the right to respond to what they say are continued attacks by "terrorist groups".

A local activist called Mousab told Reuters by telephone in neighboring Lebanon that military forces entered the Hama district "and shot people in the street".

"It began in the morning with tanks and artillery. There were houses burning," he said, adding that at least 20 people were killed, 60 were wounded and more could be buried under collapsed buildings.

The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said it had the names of 28 people killed in Hama on Monday.

A group of U.N. monitors visited Hama on Sunday, and activists said soldiers opened fire to prevent a crowd from meeting them in the main square of the city, which had been relatively quiet since the ceasefire agreement.

Hama is a hotbed of anti-Assad sentiment where thousands of people were killed 30 years ago in a crackdown on an armed Islamist uprising by his father, Hafez.

"HIDDEN TANKS"

On Monday, the nascent U.N. monitoring mission also visited Douma, a town on the outskirts of Damascus. A video provided by activists showed four blue-helmeted U.N. personnel in the middle of a throng of thousands of men chanting anti-Assad slogans.

Besides calling for the arming of the rebels, the men also demanded tanks be pulled out of cities amid skepticism that Assad's forces are complying with one of the key stipulations of Annan's ceasefire deal.

Douma-based activist Mohammed Doumany said security forces had simply hidden tanks and other hardware on farms around the town, beyond the prying eyes of monitors.

"Today everything is quiet. Yesterday and this morning there was lots of gunfire and tanks everywhere but they have hidden them to pretend to the monitors that they are respecting the ceasefire," he said.

Under the terms of the deal, the U.N. monitors have to remain neutral - a stance that is drawing ire from Syrians desperate for outside help, especially after Western military intervention against Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

"When they went to Zabadani, they only stayed for ten minutes and refused to see anything," said Omar Hamza, an activist who lives just outside Douma, after a flying U.N. visit to Zabadani, a town near the Lebanese border.

"They are only there to see if there are tanks but the government hides them," he said. "The people of Zabadani are very angry."

The Syrian government says 2,500 security personnel have been killed by the rebels, and the official SANA state news agency "armed terrorist" groups assassinated a colonel, two lieutenants, a warrant officer and a doctor on Sunday.

Western and Arab ministers meeting in Paris last week described the observer mission as a "last chance" for peace in a state that sits at the strategic heart of the Middle East, and abuts Israel.

The United States said if Damascus did not permit adequate monitoring, the Security Council should work towards imposing global sanctions that would put a far tighter economic squeeze on Assad.

The European Union strengthened its own sanctions against Damascus on Monday, restricting exports of luxury goods and items that could be used for repression.
