If you're an AT&T customer, you might recall that in early December, the carrier offered an update to the Samsung Galaxy S III. The update brought Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to the flagship Android handset, but there was a major caveat: AT&T only offered it through Samsung Kies, not OTA. Apparently, the carrier failed to promote the update and many of its customers probably were unfamiliar with Kies which requires users to
connect their handset to a desktop PC to download software updates.AT&T might have noticed a low adaption rate for the Android 4.1 update among their Samsung Galaxy S III users in deciding to push out the same update, but this time via OTA. AT&T customers with the phone will have to
connect to a Wi-Fi signal in order to receive the new OS build. If you haven't received the notification that the update is ready to be installed, you can go to Settings>About Phone>Software Update to cajole the Jelly Beans into your phone.
While the update has started today, be reasonable. It takes time for the update to reach every customer's handset, so if it doesn't come today, eventually it will.
