So one day I stopped wishing. I looked at my calendar and realized that with the upcoming Holidays, I was going to have a lot of 'company' in my home. Nothing like the impending arrival of family and friends to get motivated right?! I jumped online and ordered a bunch of black and white photos from Mpix.com and then I drove on over to Hobby Lobby.
It was a good week for this project-- if you watch the sales you can score free shipping or discounts from online printing. And then you can either catch the revolving sales cycle at Hobby Lobby or use the good old 40% coupon. (Which you can pull up on your phone while you are in the check-out line!)
Once my photos arrived on my front step, I popped them in the frames and pleaded for my husband's help.? I handed him the hammer and some nails. Then I helped direct as he hung the photos.
If you are really organized, you can try some of the great tutorials online for plotting exactly where to hang your pics. Or you can be like me, and just eye-ball it because you are impatient :)? Either way, I was thrilled to finally get my gallery wall on the stairs.
I don't feel it is 'completely' finished yet. I think we could grow the collection and expand. But I am hesitant to add any photos lower as my girls still like to hold onto (aka rub their hands on) the walls as the climb up and down the stairs :) Can you relate?? I also think it would be neat to add a few personal items into the mix. For now, I do think it adds a great personal touch to our home. You can't go wrong with photos of family.
And while we are on the topic of family, I would like to take a moment to thank North Texas Kids for their continued support of my blog.
